Man, as you know, refers to social beings - those who live in a collective. He is not fit for life alone. Its possibilities for natural adaptation in nature are very modest, in comparison with any other mammal. Therefore, only in the conditions of civilization, which are supported daily by millions of people, will he be able to feel comfortable. But perhaps he is able to live, distancing himself from society as far as possible? I don’t think so. A person is not only biologically vulnerable, he is also socially dependent whether he likes it or not.
I will give examples that argue my point of view. In the story of M. Gorky, “The Old Woman Izergil”, Larra killed the elder’s daughter, who refused him love. Then the council decided to pack up and condemn the killer. After a long conversation, they came to the conclusion that the son of an eagle and an earthly woman does not understand the significance of the tribe in human life. Then they cast him out, and God, as his contribution, brought immortality to the proud man. Since then, he is doomed to wander around the world in search of refuge, but no one accepts him. He has long repented of his deed and longs for one thing - death. Life away from people has become exhausting torture for him and the worst punishment. There was no one else to show their arrogance, and it was precisely this that nourished the pride of the young man.
In Tolstoy’s novel War and Peace, a character is depicted who deliberately takes himself beyond society. This is Andrei Bolkonsky, who is leaving for war, just not to see the hypocritical inhabitants of secular salons. Idle life at the balls and receptions depressed him; he did not feel an inner kinship with the social group to which he belonged. The prince even leaves his pregnant wife, because the internal crisis of alienation makes him an irritable and angry husband. Andrei could not find a place in the secular world during the whole novel, therefore it is not surprising that the author did not find a place for him in civilian life. And this hero, too, could not do without society.
Thus, a person is a socially dependent being who needs a company vitally. He cannot realize his potential and evaluate himself without seeing the view from the side. He needs an audience in order to present himself, the opinion of these people is necessary, no matter how he seeks to prove the opposite. Therefore, a full life without society is impossible.
